Vision Express’s London flagship occupies 181–183 Oxford Street, behind two ornate late-Victorian façades with large arched windows. Raffaello Fair Ltd was appointed by Valor Architects to deliver the construction management of the project, from strip-out of the existing building to handover.
The works included structural alterations within the period building to create a dramatic double-height atrium, crossed by a floating staircase with grey marble treads, glass balustrades and brass handrails. Grey and black marble flooring runs through the store, with illuminated frame displays for leading eyewear brands set between mirrored and bronze panels. The ground floor includes the reception and consultation area in walnut joinery, while the examination rooms and patient waiting area are located in the basement.
