Oakley’s Covent Garden flagship occupies a period corner building of red brick and Portland stone, just off the Piazza. Raffaello Fair Ltd was appointed by Valor Architects to deliver the construction management of the project and, starting from the client’s concept and design drawings, produced the RIBA Stage drawings used to build it.
The store is set behind the building’s original arched frontage and spreads over two levels. Grand Antique-style black and white marble lines the walls, counters and display plinths, framing illuminated shelving for sport, lifestyle, goggles, apparel and footwear. A large LED screen suspended at the centre of the double-height space and an illuminated column form the focal point, while the upper floor hosts the Prizm experience area and optical frames, all set on a herringbone oak floor.
