Kitchen Pizzeria is a new Italian restaurant in Mile End, East London. Raffaello Fair acted as project manager and construction manager, coordinating the design by interior designer Natalie Weavers with general contractor Contrast Interiors Ltd, from strip-out to opening.
The key move was a new mezzanine: a steel-framed structure inserted into the double-height space, reached by an open steel staircase with glass balustrades, adding extra covers while keeping the room open and full of light. The interior mixes reclaimed timber cladding, exposed brick and a living green wall, with a spiral chandelier of glass bottles running through the full height of the space, and a curved counter clad in reclaimed timber and marble in front of the mosaic-tiled wood-fired pizza oven.
